ISLAMABAD: USAID agreed to launch funds value Rs8 billion for the Kurram Tangi Dam deliberate on the Kurram River in Bannu and North Waziristan Company.
An settlement between Water and Energy Improvement Authority (WAPDA) and USAID was signed on Wednesday.
US ambassador to Pakistan David Hale stated that the US was dedicated to help Pakistan in resolving its power disaster. He added that bringing peace to FATA and eradicating terrorism was foremost precedence for the US.
Water and Energy Minister Khawaja Asif stated that this plan will deliver improvement to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and North Waziristan.
Chairman WAPDA Lieutenant Common Muzammil Hussain (Retd) stated that in its first part 18 MW of electrical energy can be produced and 1600 acres of farmland can be irrigated. “The second part of the undertaking continues to be being deliberate.”
