Two senior Central Jail officers in Karachi have been arrested on Thursday over alleged obstruction of the investigation of a jailbreak involving two excessive-profile militants in June.
The Counter-Terrorism Division (CTD) arrested Central Jail Superintendent Ghulam Murtaza Shaikh and Assistant Superintendent Abdul Rehman Shaikh, CTD Deputy Inspector Basic (DIG) Amir Farooqi stated, over a variety of fees from alleged destruction of proof to threatening witnesses.
DIG Farooqi, who was dealing with the jailbreak investigation, stated the accused jailers have been creating hindrances into the investigation of the 2 militants linked to the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi ─ Mumtaz, alias Firaun, and Ahmed, alias Munna, who have been concerned within the murders of 60 individuals, together with members of the Shia group and regulation enforcement businesses.
