LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Saturday introduced a sixteen-member squad for the 4-nation Worldwide Pageant of Hockey being held in Melbourne from Nov eight to 12.
Pakistan together with hosts Australia, New Zealand and Japan will vie for the title.
Mohammad Irfan Senior has been retained as captain and Umar Bhutta as his deputy.
5 new gamers have been chosen within the squad for the primary time. They’re Khizer Akhtar (Tando Jam, District Hyderabad), Shajeeh Ahmed (Sargodha), Hassan Anwar (Faisalabad), Hassan Anwar (Pir Mahal, District Toba Tek Singh) and Shan Irshad (Sheikhupura).
Seven gamers, who have been a part of the 18-member nationwide squad which competed within the just lately-held Asia Cup in Dhaka, have been dropped. They embrace Azfar Yaqoob, Ali Shan, Waqas Akbar, Rizwan Senior, Rashid Mahmood, goalkeeper Mazhar Abbas and Mubashar Ali.
