SUKKUR: A one-day nationwide convention on the position of saints in promotion of human dignity and non secular concord was held on the Shah Abdul Latif College, Khairpur. It was organised by the Institute of Islamic Research.
School of Arts & Languages Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khuhsk presided over the convention. Talking on this event, he stated, “Tasawwuf displays the faith. By the promotion of Sufism, peace and tranquillity will prevail in our society. Underneath the management of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah, we’re dedicated to selling the Islamic values and ethics and to promotion of analysis tradition on our campus. It’s excessive time that the teachings and philosophy of saints could also be promoted at giant with a view to set up tolerant, egalitarian and enlightened society.”
Khawaja Moeenud Din Mehboob Koreja, Custodian of the shrine of Khuwaja Ghulam Farid, Kot Mithan, stated, “Our Sufis have veneration with humankind. Within the Sub-continent, with the teachings of Khawaja Moeenud Din Chishti Ajmeri, roughly ninety lac Hindus embraced Islam. That is the obvious instance of the gentle picture of a Sufi saint. Sufis have by no means given Fatwas towards any faith. The shrines of Sufi saints are binding drive in Pakistan for the promotion of peace, tranquillity, concord and brotherhood. The shrines are being focused by the militants to disturb the peace of Sufis.”
Dean of the School of Islamic Research, College of Sindh, Prof Dr Muhammad Anwar Pathan, stated, “It’s the obligation of the state to guard the lives, properties and belongings of the residents and supply conducive and congenial setting for minorities and supply alternatives to residents with none discrimination.”
Prof Dr Abdul Wahid Indhar, Zainul Aabideen Arejo, Qamarun Nisa Larik, Dr Allah Wasayo Soomro and others spoke on this event.
Dr Sajjad Ali Raeesi highlighted the goals of the convention. “This convention may have far reaching influence on the society for creating interfaith concord and non secular dialogue.”
