LAHORE: The Lahore Excessive Courtroom accepted for listening to on Monday the pleas submitted by the convicts and issued notices to the events within the Benazir homicide case.
Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad, two police officers sentenced to jail within the homicide case had challenged the decision of the anti-terrorism courtroom (ATC).
The case pertaining to the attraction towards the decision was heard by LHC’s Justice M Tariq Abbasi and Justice Habibullah Amir.
Aziz and Shahzad had challenged the decision within the LHC’s Rawalpindi bench after receiving a replica of the detailed judgment.
In August, the ATC had introduced its verdict within the homicide case of the previous prime minister after almost ten years.
Aziz, who was the police chief in Rawalpindi on the time of Bhutto’s assassination, and Shahzad, the Rawal City SP, have been sentenced to 17 years every and ordered to pay a positive of Rs0.5 million every for his or her negligence in investigating the case correctly.
The decision introduced by ATC Decide Asghar Khan at Adiala Jail cleared 5 accused within the case, sentenced two former police officers and declared former president Common (retd) Pervez Musharraf as an absconder.
The 2 former police officers had earlier been granted bail and have been current in courtroom on the time of the decision being introduced. Based on the decision, the previous policemen had been awarded 10 years in jail underneath Part 119 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and 7 years beneath Part 201 of the PPC.
