PESHAWAR: The Nationwide Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday authorised an inquiry towards officers of the Customs Division, Peshawar, who had allegedly mis-declared specs of luxurious automobiles to scale back the relevant obligation and taxes in return for receiving bribes/kickbacks.
The Regional Board Assembly (RBM) of NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held underneath the chairmanship of Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, director basic, NAB KP, in Peshawar. The assembly was attended by administrators, further administrators, case officers and different involved officers. It authorised an inquiry towards officers of Customs Division.
The bureau claimed that in preliminary scrutiny of document it was found that luxurious automobiles of 3000 CC engine capability and above have been declared of low specification as per valuation guidelines inflicting low base worth for calculation of duties and taxes. Thus, it stated, nationwide financial system suffers lack of lots of of tens of millions of rupees. In addition to this, it stated the RBM determined to file reference towards officers/officers of TMA in Dera Ismail Khan and others about corruption and misuse of authority.
