RIO JANEIRO: Brazilian police stated they arrested a Moroccan boxer on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting two feminine cleaners within the Olympic Village in Rio de Janeiro.
Officers arrested Hassan Saada, 22, on suspicion of committing the assault on Wednesday, a police assertion stated.
“In accordance with investigations, on August three the athlete sexually assaulted two Brazilian room cleaners who have been working within the Athletes’ Village,” it stated.
The arrest got here as Rio ready to host the opening ceremony for the Olympic Video games on Friday night, with world leaders visiting.
Police sources informed the information website G1 that Saada was accused of calling the cleaners to his room after which touching them.
A decide granted a police request for Saada to be held in preventive detention for 2 weeks, it added.
