The Melissa Benoist-starring DC collection bids farewell to the ‘Nashville’ star and welcomes the ‘Smallville’ alum for the upcoming third season.
“Supergirl” undergoes a casting shake-up for the upcoming third season. Laura Benanti who performed Alura, the mom of Melissa Benoist‘s Kara Zor-El, will not return for the subsequent outing. She might be changed by Erica Durance who portrayed Lois Lane on The CW’s Superman collection “Smallville“.
“Sadly Laura, who Greg [Berlanti] and I’ve labored with for years going again to Eli Stone, was unable to proceed within the position as a result of work commitments in New York,” government producer Andrew Kreisberg stated in a press release.
“However we’re so blessed that Erica has come aboard to supply her personal interpretation of Kara’s mom. We had large success with a former Lois Lane final season with Teri Hatcher. We all know Erica will proceed the proud custom of legacy actors becoming a member of our exhibits and creating new and thrilling takes on basic DC characters.”
“Supergirl” is about to return on October 9.
