ISLAMABAD: Journalist Taha Siddiqui escaped an tried abduction after being assaulted by 10-12 armed males on his solution to the airport on Wednesday morning.
Taha Siddiqui used the Twitter account of journalist Cyril Almeida to share particulars of the incident.
“I used to be on my strategy to the airport at this time at eight:20 AM when 10-12 armed males stopped my cab and forcibly tried to abduct me. I managed to flee. Protected and with police now. On the lookout for help in any means potential,” Siddiqui stated within the tweet.
The Rawalpindi Union of Journalists has expressed critical concern over the tried kidnapping.
Bureau chief of World is One Information, Siddiqui had filed a petition within the Islamabad Excessive Courtroom in Might 2017 over alleged harassment by the Federal Investigation Company (FIA). After listening to the petition, the Islamabad Excessive Courtroom had directed the FIA to cease harassing the journalist.
