KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Former NBA participant Kermit Washington has pleaded responsible to fees accusing him of spending hundreds of dollars in donations to a charity for his private use.
Washington, who performed for a number of NBA groups within the Nineteen Seventies and Nineteen Eighties, was scheduled for trial Monday in federal courtroom in Kansas Metropolis, Missouri. As an alternative, he pleaded responsible Friday to 2 counts of creating a false assertion in a tax return and one rely of aggravated id theft.
Washington was greatest recognized for throwing a punch that critically injured Houston Rockets participant Rudy Tomjanovich throughout a 1977 recreation.
Prosecutors say Washington, of Las Vegas, referred skilled athletes to a California lawyer, who filed staff’ compensation claims for them after which made donations to Washington’s charity. Washington used about $one hundred fifty five,000 from the charity for private bills.
