Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umer ur Rehman was killed and one other police officer injured following a firing incident in Quetta’s Huddah space on Monday night, stated police.
The injured sub-inspector, recognized as Bilal Shams, was the nephew of the deceased DSP.
DSP Umer and SI Shams are stated to be the brother and the son, respectively, of DSP Shams ur Rehman who was killed in a suicide bombing in Quetta’s police line on August eight, 2013.
Police officers advised DawnNews that the 2 officers have been going to their residence in Hudda space when armed males opened hearth on their car close to District Jail Quetta.
The DSP acquired a bullet wound to his head, whereas, Bilal Shams acquired a bullet in his leg. The 2 cops have been rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical remedy.
Police stated the assailants sped away on their motorbike following the assault. Policemen and personnel of different regulation enforcement businesses reached the spot because the investigation into the incident went underway. There was no instant declare of duty for the assault.
