Karachi police on Monday claimed to have arrested three militants allegedly linked to the militant Islamic State (IS) group from the outskirts of the metropolis.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar stated that police carried out a raid at a home within the Ahsanabad space of Karachi after receiving a tip from an intelligence company.
Officers recovered two 30-bore pistols, one 9mm pistol together with propaganda literature from the possession of the suspects, the SSP stated.
“Books, pamphlets, stickers and CDs relating to terrorism have been recovered from their custody,” Rao Anwar stated.
He claimed that the suspects have been planning to recruit younger individuals for his or her militant group.
The detained suspects have been recognized as Muhammad Umer, Khalid Minhas and Shakeel Ahmed.
